QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy Doggy Paddlers are excited to announce the addition of Mackenzie Schissel to the front office staff as the General Manager, effective immediately.
Schissel, a former Division I soccer player and coach, brings more than a decade of experience in the sports industry. Most recently, she served as a National College Scout for ScoutU, where she utilized her expertise in athletic development, player performance, and recruitment strategies.
She also served as the Director of Soccer Operations for Quincy Rush Soccer Club where she enhanced coaching and player development while also helped foster the growth of soccer in the Quincy community.
“I’d like to thank Tim Hoker and Golden Rule Entertainment for this opportunity,” said Schissel. “Since making Quincy my home in 2019, this city has given me a family, a career, and something uniquely special—a tight-knit community. That same sense of community is exactly what I’m eager for the Paddlers to continue building.”
Before joining ScoutU, Schissel was the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Quincy University for three years. Her husband, Matt Schissel, is the head baseball coach at Quincy University.
“Community support has always been essential to the success of local businesses, and it has played a major role in the return of summer baseball here in Quincy,” Schissel added. “As we enter our second season in the Prospect League, we are committed to putting the best version of the Paddlers on the field while carrying forward Golden Rule Entertainment’s mission of putting the fans first. Without the fans, none of this would be possible.”
In her new role, Schissel will oversee team activities related to sponsorships, community relations, and game day operations.
“I look forward to serving the Quincy community in this new role and helping the Paddlers grow as both a team and a place where fans feel connected and engaged,” said Schissel.
